The park has several areas. In the area we were in, we were able to do a self-guided tour of the fort itself. Also, the lighthouse is open for visitation. There are hiking trails, including hiking along the beach. There is a wide-open area for picnics, and folks were using it for kite-flying. It was a a good combination of history and being outdoors.

Admiralty Inlet is the body of water flowing past Fort Casey with the Strait of Juan de Fuca nearby. These waters are deep with strong, hazardous currents, but a popular area for experienced scuba divers. The beaches are narrow and rocky. Swimming here isn't advised.
