Standing between 1 and 1.2 metres tall, lions are impressively built animals, with compact bodies, powerful legs and strong jaws and teeth, making them superb hunters. They are visibly different to African lions; the males’ manes are much darker. The larger and darker their manes are, the more attractive they are to females.

Early on a misty morning, before the gates open and the lions peacefully roam their habitat, you’ll sit beside them and feast on a deliciously cooked breakfast before continuing your day of adventure at the zoo – a truly unique way to start your day!

You’ll deliver lunch to these magnificent beasts using a zip line, from an exclusive platform and get to observe the lions up close working hard for a meaty snack, in their habitat which mirrors the Gir National Park in India – the only place in the world where Asiatic lions can still be found!
