Harris Tweed Hebrides’ warper, Gus, demonstrates the process of transferring the warp from the drum to the weaver’s beam. With over 1400 individual warp threads running through a full length of Harris Tweed® fabric, precision is essential. The warp is meticulously prepared at the Shawbost Mill before being sent to the weaver’s home. Each thread is carefully placed on the drum to ensure the design is correctly set for weaving.
