An investigation by wildlife biologists found that the coyotes at San Francisco’s Crissy Field have begun to see small dogs as prey. Signs at Crissy Field have warned of coyote activity for years, but after three attacks in September, the Golden Gate National Recreation Area posted new signs advising dog owners to keep their pets on leash even in off-leash areas, and has encouraged park visitors who encounter coyotes to haze the animals with new methods.
